Psalms 116:7

Try this experiment in doing your day a different way

Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.

Psalms 116:7

Want a completely different way to do your day? Start tomorrow tonight.

I don’t mean working on tomorrow’s agenda overnight tonight. You’ll still go to sleep as usual. But when you wake up tomorrow - and go through tomorrow - you’ll have different eyes to see. Why?

Because of all God is up to in the night hours.

While we’re used to starting our day in the morning, the Hebrews begin at night. It’s right there in Genesis 1: “And there was evening, and there was morning…” And for good reason: it reminds us we aren’t the initiators.

God acts, and we respond.

Go to bed tonight anticipating the God who never sleeps nor slumbers, and wake up tomorrow attentive to what He’s been up to. Desires within you, observations around you, faces in front of you. In every activity - and in between each activity - there are expressions of eternity.

If nothing else, you’ll find a more rested soul - for the Lord has indeed been good to you.
