Matthew 16:18

I imagine eternity will be beyond words one day, but don’t overlook what Jesus points to for this day when we declare him as Savior:

“And I tell you that you are Peter…” - We come to the knowledge of who we really are in Christ. Rather than living from our own idea of identity, we access what God had in mind when he formed us.

“…and on this rock I will build my church…” - We find connection with others who also make this declaration. We have community - perhaps not with who we thought or pictured - but who we align with in life foundation.

“…and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” - We engage in power that nothing we encounter will overcome. As we go forth into the realm of the dead, we have the assurance that the life of Jesus will continue to advance, no matter the gates we run into.
